These are the peoples and places concerned with the administration of income tax . Most of the country have income tax department or the VAT department
The government of a country is however the highest income tax authority and regulates collection of these types of taxes by the law.The following authorities can be present in the Income tax Department

The ministry of finance is the apex of tax administration. Revenue department of the ministry regulates and formulates  tax related  policies and co-ordinating the activities of all revenue departments.
